I highly doubt Pitts would leave Brentwood for King. I bet Brentwood pays two or three times what King would as a coach.

Who asked you? Earn your stripes...you've only got 54 posts as it is, and just reg'ed 2 months ago. I don't care when they reg'ed, they've got maybe 17 posts between them...not enough to have any credibility around here, especially when most have been in disagreement of me when they have nothing to back up their dissention, that's for sure. And xcoach reg'ed about 2 months before I did...big seniority he's got on me there, especially with all of 14 posts. [img]/LDPforum/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif[/img]

And I don't "feel a need" to post multiple times a day. I enjoy speaking to about 90% of people on this board, and most give great input on lots of different topics, and are freely expressing their opinions on the matters at hand. This is Coeburn business, so unless you're from Coeburn--I ask you kindly to stay out of it.

I know Crazietfather as well as anyone on here and he never did feel that he was any kind of special athlete but just loved playing. He was very level headed about his skill level and only tried to get better but new that he was limited and that his real strong point was his mental abilities and not his athletic abilities.

I've heard the same rumor from someone who knows Pitts. Whether it comes about or not, who knows.

Pitts has nothing left to prove at Brentwood. He's already won two State Championships and the Arby's Classic. Plus, he misses the Tri-Cities and King College might be able to raise just enough money to get him there considering they are a private college. If he does take the job the rest of the AAC might as well give up there basketball programs because his teams will dominate.

As for Coeburn business--myself and another person from Coeburn (TheBeast) were speaking about it as it was brought up in this thread, then everyone else decided to butt in and defend a man that you guys probably don't know much about past him being an ex-basketball coach and the principal @Coeburn. I'm also assuming that the two fellows (BluePride & xcoach) are from Coeburn.

As for George Pitts, I agree w/what you just said. The guy is a basketball genius--great coach...with even decent athletes he'd dominate in the AAC.

CrazieFather...in response to your post.....Yes, I am from Coeburn and I have known Mr. Lee since he came to Coeburn many years ago. He has always from the first day I met him treated me, my children, and my entire family with nothing but respect. I only responded to your thread in his defense, because its obvious I know a side of Mr. Lee that you don't. He coached my son many years ago, and my son liked and respected him and he treated my son fairly. You are entitled to your opinion of him the same as I am entitled to my opinion of him. I truly like the man, and have an enourmous amount of respect for him and the many kindnesses he has shown my family over the years. I would just like to see the negative, hurtful comments about him stopped so they aren't posted here for the kids still in high school to see and make biased judgements based on your opinion. This is a sports forum, not a venue to attack a persons morals or values. For every negative comment you can make about him, I can make a positive one. I think we should just drop the topic once and for all...Truce?

First of all no one needs to "earn their stripes" on a public message board. I have read this board since back in 1999- i just never posted because of that kind of attitude. This isn't high school- there is no seniority. So what if they just post a couple times- maybe that is the only post they feel strongly about. Or maybe they realize that you and your "forum friends" will gang up against them if they dare to disagree.

And how do you know I'm not from Coeburn? I know a lot about that school and the people working there and I will post if i feel like it. I know Mr. Lee and I know Coach Adkins, Coach Hicks and all the others you've talked about. I'm so sick of seeing you slamming everybody who disagrees with you.

If you're from Coeburn, feel free to speak on the subject. I'm just telling you and others what my opinion of the man is--if you disagree, disagree w/evidence to the contrary--that will lend your words more credence on here. And believe it or not, I don't care how long you or someone else reads this forum--to everyone that posts here, there is a bit of a food chain here according to how long you've been here and what you've contributed. If you've posted on here for a long time (i.e. NOLA/lifer) and have contributed to the board, then your words will carry a little more weight than someone who's not contributed and not posted. It's just how it is...sorry if you don't like it.

BluePride--Truce? You've got it--I don't like to hold grudges or have disagreements with anyone from Coeburn--it's not the way I like to operate. Just allow me two bits of advice/insight about Danny; first, for every one person you've seen him treat well, I've seen him treat 20+ more people poorly. This is not a come lately thing for me to not like him, and has nothing to do with when I played under him. There's just certain ways you don't screw people over in life, and he's done most of them. Secondly, if he's your family friend and is nice to you, I just want to give the advice to watch your back...because if you or anyone you care about ever has something that he can take away that will give him a leg up...it's integrity be damned and instead of patting you on the back he'll be stabbing you in the back. I've seen it over the course of a decade and a half...it happens all the time.

Crazie, I know you will never like the man and that is your right. I'm not trying to change the way you feel about him, I just want everyone who reads this to know that not everyone feels about him the way you do. I hope that anyone who has read these posts who do not personally know him will reserve judgement of him until they can form their own opinions of him once they have met him and gotten to know him. I can't speak for anyone else who knows Mr. Lee but I can speak for myself when I say that I truly like the man and I know him well enough to know that he would never do or say anything disrespectful to me or my family, just as I would never say a derogatory word against him. As long as he treats me with respect and kindness he will receive the same courtesy from me and my family. Regardless of how you feel about him he is a human being with feelings who has a family who might be hurt by the personal jabs and as it is with a lot of situations in life some things are better left unsaid, some topics left untouched. I believe this is one of those topics. I have read this forum for several years, but this is the first time I have ever felt so strongly about a subject that I would take my time to post a reply. I appreciate the opportunity to defend a dear friend of mine. I have watched you grow up Brad and I know you are a nice young man, I hope we can agree to disagree.
